James Fox is a British Defence and Security expert and currently, a doctoral candidate focusing on the sustainable development of nascent resource economies. He holds an undergraduate degree in Russian and Politics from University College London and has experience working around the world, including Mexico City, Paris, and St. Petersburg (Russia). James has run and led a number of initiatives focusing on emerging security threats, including terrorist drone usage, illicit hydrocarbon markets, and border management. He is an advocate of the use of automated technologies to counter illegal pipeline tapping and illicit cross-border activity and advises a number of companies on the implementation of drone security systems. Whilst supporting several national causes, he has long been a follower of the Afghanistan Forward movement and advocates the organization’s work to aid the development of the democratic process. James is proficient in Russian, Spanish and French and is looking to learn Arabic in 2019.
